About This Song

I didn't want kids. And somehow they were had! The first year of parenting was a blur. I didn't think I was falling in love like everyone told me I would. Then one night, I put her to sleep and felt her breathing. I didn't want to put her down. I started a prayer that night 11 years ago, Father to father, please slow it down. I don't want want to miss anything else. She's 12 now and I still cry every time I play it!

Feedback Requested

I'd love to pitch this song. I'm concerned it's too cliche, but it gets such an emotional reaction live.

Brandon > I enjoyed your song. I also like how the story line progressed through each verse. A bittersweet lyric.. Great vocal and guitar.

Brandon, Brandon, Brandon… If I were sitting in a crowd and we’d all just heard you play this song, I’d be on feet right now, giving you a standing ovation. No ifs, ands, or buts. Wow. What a song. What a beautiful, well crafted song. Right down to the last note. Even the bridge was well done. Like you probably spent more time on the chords, melody, and lyric for just the bridge than a lot of people spend on the whole song! I have so many questions, like where was this demo done? Who is singing? How long did you take to write this song? How long have you been writing? As far as the song, I don’t have anything to offer as feedback. I heard where the singer sings a word here or there different, but I think that was probably a production thing that was done during the vocal tracking to make those lines flow and sing easier…. Just a great song. I’m very jealous that I can’t write on this level yet. Good luck with your song and writing, and thanks for sharing.

Hey Brandon, very nice song. I could relate to it on many levels. I too did not want kids, now I have three. When I had my first, it was a daughter and she’s growing up way too fast and I cant imagine life without her. Funny how our hearts can change. Your song sounded very well put together, musically and vocally. The vocally melody matches the emotion in the song perfectly. Great job, I really enjoyed listening to it and thank you for sharing it with us!

Father to Father

Written by Brandon Pasion

Father to Father

V1:
She’s not an angel, Never needed her to be
Her kind of beautiful is all the heaven that I need
But I feel like times been racing Since the moment we began
I’m asking Lord, cause somehow I’m sure you can understand
Ch: 1
Father to Father, Would you slow it down for me
I used to be her whole world, now the world is hers to see
Don’t let me miss a moment of the girl she’s gonna be
Father to Father, Would you slow it down for me
V2:
I’m not a hero, Never really tried to be
Haven’t earned a minute of the way she looks at me
Yesterday I ruled the castle we built out of sand
But castles fall, and after all, a king is just a man
C2:
Father to Father, Would you slow it down for me
A princess twirls, you blink, the world’ll shift and she’s 16
Don’t let me miss a moment of the girl she’s gonna be
Father to Father, Would you slow it down for me
B:
I used to sit and questions if I ever loved before
Then you sent a girl, who wrecked my world, I don’t wonder anymore
C3:
Father to Father, Would you slow it down for me
She used to hold my hand, and now she’s miles ahead of me
I miss the girl she was but love the girl she’s gonna be
Father to Father, Would you slow it down for me
