We have always lived in rural areas, as a result we never had trash pickup service.
So every Saturday morning, as my song says, “I headed to the local junk yard,
I had some rusty things to discard “.
But before I left the house, my wife would always ask me, “ if you find any good, bring it home” and honestly, folks did quite often leave something of value that we could use and so, I did bring some things home.
But one Saturday morning, while at the junkyard, I got to thinkin, what if while I’m here some fella drives in and while there, he gets into an argument with his girlfriend, then he just leaves her there standing all alone. When I noticed the girl standing there I thought,
Well, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure “
And that is where the idea for my song came from.
Although I could not post it here, I have created a complete A.I. music video for my song.
So please message me ( if interested) and I will send you a link to the music video.
And I would to here your comments and feedback.
Thank you.

[Verse 1]
Saturday morning, I headed to the local junkyard,
I had some rusty things I needed to discard.
Had a real good feeling that when I got there,
I’d find something different an beyond compare.
But then a truck spun gravel and left a cloud of dust,
And when the dust cleared, it was just the two of us.
He left his girlfriend there with a broken heart,
And that’s where our love story got its start.
[Chorus]
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,
We found love there beyond all measure.
She was left behind, but I saw her worth,
I picked her up to try an heal her hurt.
[Verse 2]
She was standing there, her pretty blue eyes now full of tears,
The weight of his words still ringing in her ears.
I said, "Hop on in, I’ll give you a ride,"
She smiled through the pain and climbed on inside.
I knew right there, she was my blessing in disguise
As the tears welled up, in my eyes…………………………….
[Chorus]
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,
We found love there beyond all measure.
She got left behind, but I saw her worth,
I picked her up to try an heal her hurt.
[Bridge]
I saw the pain in her eyes,
Like a diamond in disguise.
Told her, "Darlin', don't you worry,
Let's rewrite this story."
Instrumental solo.
[Chorus]
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,
We found love there beyond all measure.
She got left behind, but I saw her worth,
I picked her up to try an heal her hurt.
[Outro]
That junkyard trip started out, like all the rest.
And since that day, I must now confess.
Cause every Saturday, she’s right by my side,
One man’s trash became my lifelong bride.

Hey Matteo. Great idea for a song. Very creative lyric with lots of imagery. Great country-rock vibe. I think it could be a hit song on the radio, absolutely see it. I wish you the best of luck with it. Heard you talking about the video with Brent on the J.A.M. session. I would love to check it out. Again, great song man.
