About This Song

Work tape. My lyrics set to a paid for melody and vocal generator to edit for studio demo coming soon. Lost my Dad before I could get back home one last time. Life got busy and I should have made it a priority. Big regret!

Hey Tray,
Aint too many songs that I comment on, but you’ve got a winner here man.  Absolutely love the lyrics (and the melody really fit).  “I won’t make excuses cause there’s no excuse for that”. “Mad at God, Even madder at me”. “I was playin the odds and time cheated me”.  You can really craft some words.  Sorry to read about your dad. This is such a universal feeling, especially in a time when children are scattered all over the country.  This one has such broad appeal I think it could be a hit for sure. Good luck with it.

Finally (country)

Written by Tray Price

I just pulled in your drive, running later than planned
Stopped to grab a coffee, n’got to chatting with some old man
Sorry it's been so long since I made my way back
I won't make excuses, ‘cause there's no excuse for that

Now that I'm here, can’t seem to pry myself out of this old truck
All these emotions have my heart feeling beatup

Ohhh
I made it home —-finally
I'm mad at God,
Even madder at me
Knew it would happen one day
Guess I was playing the odds-
N’time cheated me,
looks like we both made it home—-finally

This house seems hollow without you here
Or is that the new hole in my atmosphere?
Whens the last time I called you?
wish I could say for sure I knew
I can almost hear you saying, “it dont matter, son-let that go”
May just be your kindness these walls still echo

Ohhh
I made it home —-finally
I'm mad at God,
Even madder at me
Knew it would happen one day
Guess I was playing the odds
N’time cheated me,
looks like we both made it home ——finally

A few more boxes to pack up, then its time for me to go
Still cant believe I missed you on this last trip back home

Ohhh
I made it home —-finally
I'm mad at God,
Even madder at me
Knew it would happen one day
Guess I was playing the odds
N’time cheated me,
looks like we both made it home ——finally

Ohhh
Sorry its been so long since I made my way back
I wont make excuses, ‘cause there's no excuse for that
