(NOTE: demo is my lyrics and then AI generated music/vocals. There is a change in the chorus on lyric sheet vs demo—dusting changed to laundry—and also the bridge will be artist optional but I have one on lyrics below and alternative on demo)
Long blonde bouncing curls, sparkling jade green eyes
Five year old belly laughs- spin’n round, face to the sky
She brings out the kid in me when I see life through her lens
So much more than a daughter, my forever best friend
Laying in the shade on a patchwork quilt,
soaking in the summer air
She wraps her hands ‘round mine and says “Momma, will you put daisies in my hair”
oh time—-
It goes too fast
Babies dont keep
and childhood dont last
The dishes can wait,
the laundry can too
If the house isnt spotless,
She wont care——
I’ll always make time
To put daisies in her hair
From first grade to a college graduation
Now the backyards full of wedding decorations
Her Dad’ll walk her down the aisle, then she’ll change her last name
In the same place she used to twirl and play
all grown up, beautiful in white,
With cheeks kissed by tears
She wraps her hands ‘round mine and says “Momma, will you put daisies in my hair”
Oh time
It goes too fast
Babies dont keep
and childhood dont last
The dishes can wait,
the laundry can too
If the house isnt spotless,
She wont care——
I’ll always make time
To put daisies in her
One day she’ll sit at my bedside
My when my last breath draws near
Holding on tight to the hands
That once put daisies in her hair
Oh time
It goes too fast
Babies dont keep
and childhood dont last
The dishes can wait,
the laundry can too
If the house isnt spotless,
She wont care——
I’ll always make time
To put daisies in her hair
Yeah I’ll always make time
To put daisies on her hair
(Optional bridge:
Now she waits on the arrival of her own little girl
A first time mom and all the worries in the world
I can see she's unsure when I look in her eyes
So I wrap my hands around hers and give her this advice
