A youthful poem of sadness is revised to make a mature poem of hope and confidence.
I would love to sell this song to a performing artist. Any suggestions or advice to make this goal happen - either changes to the song itself or ways to get in front of the right people.

Children on a waterslide
Watch the sky go by
They follow their feet
And slide until they die
They slide through the day
They slide at night
Some go down kicking and screaming
Some without a fight
Sobs and cries, moans and groans
They end it with a cheer
Once swallowed by the pool below
They quietly disappear
Oh the things I wrote when I was young
How sad I must of been
I made myself the friend of loneliness
But as days passed by when I was young
The sad I put away
I found myself behold a better place
Life’s a joy
By God
By God
Life’s a joy
Grown ups on the road of life
Take the wheel in hand
They follow their heart
To the land where dreams expand
They drive through hard times
They drive through strife
But they find the love their looking for
And they smile at life
One day they have the gift of a child
And they want them to know
You will feel the warmth of the world
As you grow
Oh the things I wrote when I was young
How sad I must of been
I made myself the friend of loneliness
But as days passed by when I was young
The sad I put away
I found myself behold a better place
Life’s a joy
By God
By God
Life’s a joy
