About This Song

This song is a few years old and its one I always go back to. I'm hoping to record this at some point, possibly for an EP. I wrote this about someone in my life who's self destructive.

Not really into the ending. Or the bridge for that matter.

I love the chorus! I like the way the words “you animal” sound in this song. You have great emotion in your voice and your lyrics are powerful. Definitley wanna hear a studio version of this! Great job.

Anthony, Welcome to Frettie. Very nice song. Everything syncs together really nice for me. The vocals are full of emotion and the melody and guitar just keep me engaged through the song. I too like the use of “You Animal”.

Not even chains can tame the beast
That dwells beneath the surface of your skin
Not even a song can make you sleep
Long enough to realize that all you do is sin
You tear the people up, limb by limb
Till blood fills the streets like a massacre
You tear the people up, bit by bit
Till tears flood and drown us without so much as a word

You animal (x2)

You find yourself a home just to burn it down
Use the ashes as reminders that you're better off alone
And from the charred remains you find clarity
And a sense of optimism that radiates effervescently

You animal (x2)

Bridge:
Everything that ever mattered
Every little piece is shattered
Like glass, but we can't go back
There's no saving you my friend

You animal (x5)
