My Guitar in 44

Written by James Green

My Guitar (in 4/4) © Jim Green 2019
Over there behind the chair. That is where, I tell all my secrets to
All my pain it lets me share, Everything I care and wanna to say to you
If there are words, that I don’t know, with My old friend, I’ll sing them so you’ll stay again
But without the one, who can play the song, I find myself, so alone, without a friend

When whiskey won’t get me through
And another beer just won’t do
When there’s no friends at the bar, and I don’t know where you are
I go back to my guitar
My fingers know where to go
Oh they’ve done this all before
No single malt or ultra light, can get me through this lonely night
Like my guitar

I’ve told all, my secrets to, this willing pal, all My ups and downs
All your lies and alibis, have got me thinking otherwise there’s someone else
now the time, has come that I, tell no lies and lay out another tale
In the case, I grab the neck. The strings are tuned, My mind’s a wreck, and I begin to tell

Chorus
Chorus
