About This Song

Sometimes, a while into a relationship, you wake up to find you don't recognise yourself anymore...

Any feedback would be great - be ruthless!! It's the only way I'll grow as an artist smile

Interesting perspective on love to write about. I like this. I will say though that I was not getting the “Fade for Me” reference. I do like the chorus though. It’s nice to hear that repeated Becomes very catchy.

Perhaps I missed it in the lyrics, but I can’t tell if the person in this song is still in the relationship? My thoughts is that the person is not and that’s why he wants the memory to Fade.

I think this is totally worth working on more and refining. Excited to see what feedback others. Give.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment Dennis, appreciate it mate.
It’s actually a song written from the perspective of someone exerting control over someone in a relationship, molding them into someone else, (i.e. wanting the real them to fade), but it doesn’t seem like I got that across ha ha.
Glad you liked the chorus, it was the first thing I got, then built the song from there.
I’ll work on it some more, maybe for future release.
Many thanks.
Peace.

Fade For Me, My Lover

Written by Phillip Steven Rowe

When I look at you now
All the work that I've done
Is beginning to make such sense.
All I took was the good
And then fashioned away
Just that which gave me some offence.
You're not there, but give it time
And the selfless and serving love I give.
I can make you live.

So fade for me my lover, my lover.
Fade for me my lover, my lover, lover.
Fade for me my lover, my lover.
Fade for me my lover, my lover.

You weren't good, you were great
But perfection eluded you,
That's why you needed me.
Nothing drastic or wild,
Just a change here and there
But the difference is plain to see.
Almost there, and in good time
You will smile as you see what it means to me.
I can make you see.

I love you so righteously, I treat you so graciously,
I gift you so happily, I mind you endlessly,
I try you reluctantly, I bare you so painfully.
The means make good the end.

So come on, now...
