About This Song

This song came to me while running through a park in a light rain, with the temperature at 33 degrees. It turned to snow, and I just felt this magical surreal sensation which turned into a song.

I tried to capture the feeling of the moment and compare it to falling in love, so I'm open to comments as to whether or not I succeeded!

Feeling Rain Turn to Snow

Written by Stephen Nuckolls

It’s thirty-three degrees with cloudy skies
The radio’s saying that it’s gonna rain and we should stay inside
I’d love to see it turn to snow
We’d snuggle up next to a big warm fire and keep the lights down low

We’ve always said we liked each other so
And when there’s more to it we’d be the first to know
And when we hold each other the change is gonna show
Because when like turns to love it’s like feeling rain turn to snow

Now a blanket of snow was rolled out by this winter storm
Ain’t It funny how something so cold and wet could make us feel so warm
I’m glad I’m sharing this with you
We’ll hold this feeling for years to come ‘cause that’s what lovers do

We’ve always said we liked each other so
And when there’s more to it we’ll be the first to know
And when we hold each other the change is gonna show
Because when like turns to love it’s like feeling rain turn to snow
