Hey Doug! Great song!! Love the title and everything that supports it in the chorus! I really dig your set up too…
“I guess you ain’t the only thing that’s run out on me”. Really cool! I know since it’s demo’d, I’m sure you won’t go back in.. but the set up into the hook is a tad bit hard to understand unless reading the lyric. I had to recheck it against lyric. That’s my only feedback. I DIG!!!

Wow, thanks Jayne!  Those are my co-writers singing on the home studio demo.  I’m sure we can fix us that with either a re-sing or a lyric change to make it clearer.  I really appreciate your feedback,  Thanks for listening.

Run Out
Aidan Johnson-Bujold, Mike Ure, & Doug Folkins 2021 ©

Been working on this bottle
Thank God I got another
‘Cause it’s about to run out

Been sitting by this fire
Just stacking pallets higher
Watch ‘em burn on down

It’s like my life broke down on the side of the road

I’ve run outta gas, run outta luck
Run out of sad songs thinking about us
Run outta cigarettes, Marlboro reds
Wishing that we never fell in love
Run out patience, run out reasons, run outta sleep
Guess you aint the only thing that’s run out on me

It’s been twenty one days
Since you went away
I guess tears have dried out

You changed your profile picture
To one without me with ya
Guess the word’s out now

And I’m out here breaking down on the side of the road

Chorus

I didn’t think that you were you kind
To leave me behind when the going got tough
Who would've thought everything we had
Was never gonna be enough

I’ve run outta gas, run outta luck
Run out of sad songs thinking about us
Run outta cigarettes, Marlboro reds
Wishing that we never fell in love
Run out patience, run out reasons, run outta sleep
Run out of stupid, sorry excuses I’ll never believe
Guess you aint the only thing that’s run out on me
Guess you aint the only thing that’s run out on me
