About This Song

Just another fun song that I have been working on.

Any pointers that will help make it more "pitchable"!

Benny,

You continue to impress me with those really simple lyrics that just zing. I think this is off to a great start.

I think you could hit me with a nice bridge or some change up right after the second chorus. It felt like it would really just pull me right back in with something big.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Dennis. Point well taken. It really could use a bridge.

Benny…You show potential here. Might slow the tempo a step or two. Shorten the title? “DON’T NEED NO SHOES.”
Give him another name besides willy or better yet give him a nickname. Like “Smooth Beat?” Just suggestions.

I would sing up at the end of the chorus.

Experiment with sounds like HMM, EWW, Guitar slap.
HA, HA, HA! Make me feel it. Stomp those feet.
Take off those shoes while writing.

Earl, Thanks for listening and commenting. I think you have some good suggestions there although apparently they go with one of my other songs! I’ll try a slower version.

What’s Your Alibi Tonight

Written by Benny Pitsinger

WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT?
COPYRIGHT J.BENNY PITSINGER 2013

EVERY NIGHT YOU SAY YOU’RE COMIN BUT I SPEND IT ALONE
GO OVER TO YOUR HOUSE AND THERE AIN’T NOBODY HOME
I LOOK UP IN YOUR DRIVEWAY THERE’S NO SIGN OF YOUR CAR
I CALL YOUR SISTER UP AND SHE DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE
YOUR BOSS MAN SAYS HE SAW YOU LEAVIN’ FROM WORK
YOU WAS CLIMBING IN A CADILLAC WITH SOME OTHER JERK

WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, YOU WAS CAUGHT IN A SNOWSTORM?
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, THERE AIN’T A CLOUD IN THE SKY
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, THERE WAS A CRASH ON THE FREEWAY?
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, NOW DON’T YOU TELL ME NO LIE

YOU ASK ME FOR SOME CASH WHEN YOU WANT SOMETHING NEW
YOU TAKE ALL OF MY DOUGH LIKE IT WAS OWED TO YOU
LAST WEEK YOU TOLD ME THAT YOU HAD TO GO OUT OF TOWN
BUT SEVERAL OF MY FRIENDS OBSERVED YOU RUNNING AROUND
YOU TELL ME ALL THOSE FIBS AND LOOK ME STRAIGHT IN THE EYE
DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT I’M BELIEVIN’ ALL OF YOUR LIES

WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, DID YOU HAVE A FLAT TIRE
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, YOU TOOK YOUR DOG TO THE VET
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, DID ANOTHER UNCLE EXPIRE
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, BETCHA YOU AIN’T GOT ANY PETS

YOU TELL ME THAT YOU LOVE ME AND YOU WANNA BE MINE
BUT YOU’RE GIVIN ME EXCUSES BABY ALL OF THE TIME
THE WAY YOU TREAT ME HONEY IS A CRYIN SHAME
I’M GETTING TIRED OF PLAYIN ROUND WITH ALL OF YOUR GAMES

WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, YOU SAY THERE WAS A MAJOR EARTHQUAKE?
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, AND THE LEVEE BROKE LOOSE?
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, YOU SAY IT FLOODED ALL THE HIGHWAYS?
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, I DIDN’T SEE IT ON THE NEWS

WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, YOU AIN’T MAKIN’ THIS STUFF UP ARE YOU?
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, I GOT A FEELIN AIN’T TELLIN’ THE TRUTH
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, YOU REMEMBER WHEN YOUR GRANDMA DIED
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, WELL YEAH, BUT TWICE IN ONE YEAR
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, AND THAT TIME YOU WERE ABDUCTED BY ALIENS
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, I DO BELIEVE THE PART ABOUT THE PROBE THOUGH
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, BUT THAT’S THE ONLY THING I BELIEVE
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT, YEAH, YOU GOT A PROBE ALLRIGHT
WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI TONIGHT
