Humorous tune about a guy who feels his calling in life is drinking because he’s so good at it.
Is it a hit?

Vs:
After one long nine to five
I heard a voice low and divine
Proclaiming words from up above
“It ain’t work if it’s what you love”
Then It came to me with one cold beer
The time was right to change careers
So I left the daily grind behind
For swinging doors and neon signs
Ch:
(Now I can, ‘cause I can, and I can)
Stay out late with all my friends
Raise a little hell for hours on end
Sleep it off till the sun goes down
In a bar where the mem’ries drown
Alt 1
Won’t be a teacher, spiritual leader
But I can show up and go at my leisure
Alt 2
I’ll never be a doctor, high priced lawyer
But I can feed the jukebox full of quarters
Alt 3
Won’t be president, working for the gub’ment
I ain’t looking forward to retirement
I stumble when I walk and I talk and I fall into the wall
Drinking is my calling
Vs:
I finally found a job that pays
In twist-off caps and playoff games
Do my trade by big screen light
After 2 am we’re closed for the night
Sitting on a barstool assembly line
Drinks keep coming one at a time
I don’t mind working double shifts
My occupation is gift
Climb:
I get paid in shots, the house band rocks
No need to punch a clock
I’m my own boss, but best of all
I can drink on the job
Tag:
Bar tab’s paid up
Workin my way up
What can I say but...
Drinking is my calling
