Uncle Brent ...

Hey Patrick,
Nice intro riff and good vocals.  Nice build into the Chorus and funny when he sings flowers at the end. Some might say it’s too long but the 3rd verse wraps up the story well.  My favorite line is “It’s a good year for the roses, but there ain’t no time for posers, I’m knocking down your hightower.

Thanks, Brent

Buy myself flowers

Written by Patrick Adams

I Think I’ll Buy Myself Flowers
Writers: Kris Tiscareno, Sundi Jo Graham, Brad Hacker, Patrick Adams
Verse One:
Girl, I’m done being your wishing well
Today’s the day I break this spell
Of being trapped underneath your thumb
With your high heel dreams and your nose
stuck up
Pre-Chorus
Cause if you lowered expectations you
might appreciate carnations
I’m starting to feel empowered
Chorus:
I think I’ll buy myself flowers
Hit the spa for an hour
Think I’ll buy myself flowers
New pair of shoes and a shiny, diamond ring
Just what’s so bad ‘bout being treated like a
queen by a guy like me?
Flowers
Verse Two:
Don’t get me wrong, I like your new outfit
But now and then be more considerate
I’ll hang the stars and make your world turn
For a little kindness in return
Pre-Chorus
So if you can’t reciprocate let’s change
positions on this date
I got purchasing powers
Repeat Chorus
Bridge:
Now’s the time for some give and take
Not quite convinced that it ain’t too late
Spotlight on me feels good for a change
Could you put another umbrella in my
drink?
Verse Three:
I’m not one for holding onto a grudge
But, girl, a man can only take so much
I’ll offer you the moon just one more time
But take it now before I change my mind
Pre-Chorus
It’s a good year for the roses, but there ain’t
no time for posers
I’m knocking down your hightower
Repeat Chorus
