Tells a story between a mother and daughter, and how we need to look beyond the pain in our lives and find the love or the good things in life.
I am getting ready to record this song which I think should have a contemporary country feel.
There will be another singer. I welcome any feedback you all might have.
Thanks
Mary,
As always, I really enjoy your story telling. Always well written. I can see this with a contemporary feel to it for sure. I don’t know why, but I could see this having a Carry Underwood feel to it.
The chorus is really nice. It’s raining sunshine is a really captivating line that drags me right into the chorus. Something that I struggle with.

It's Raining Sunshine
G D
The day I was born, my mama said….
Em C
It was a lot of pain, but much love came
G C D
She held me tight and said "It was raining sunshine"
G D
I soon gained my spot on the playground
Em C
With tears and skinned knees from falling down trees
G C D
She held me tight and said " Baby don't cry"
Chorus
G D
Cause It's raining sunshine
G C
There's a lot of love so don't mind
G Em D
In your life, it will always rain sunshine
G D G
You are loved in your life; find the sunshine
In a blink of an eye, I was on my own
Had my first broken heart, I was falling apart
She held me tight and said "It was raining sunshine"
Now the years have a way of taking from us
But mama lived to see her grand-daughter breathe
I hold her tight and say "Baby don't cry"
Chorus
Bridge
D C G
Life is so bittersweet
D C G
Worth all the tears on this broken street
D C G
Each moment I've spent with you
D C D
Makes the grey of the rain turn blue
Final Chorus
Cause It's raining sunshine, there is a lot of love so don't mind
In your life, it will always rain sunshine
Cause it's raining sunshine, there is a lot of love so don't mind
In your life, it will always rain sunshine
You are loved in your life; find the sunshine
You are loved in your life, find the sunshine

Great song. I’d say it’s ready to record. Some things I would like to hear are the instruments different for last line of the chorus to set it apart.
And in the bridge, maybe start the first two lines earlier, so that “sweet” and “street” come when the G chord is hit.
Sing the melody of the 4th line in the third line of the bridge, then go higher for the 4th line.
Good luck!
