Hi Benny, thanks so much for the feedback. Yes, I struggled with deciding on what level of darkness I wanted the music to be. In the end I decided on a more upbeat vibe to the music. It would be interesting to hear the other version, I agree.

The Fall
By Mary Segato
G D
She started out with the lights and glam
G C
It came so easy, she didn't give a damn
G D
She's living at night, Dreaming in the day
G D
Long nights of leaving herself behind
G C
Swallowing her fears with each glass of wine
Em D
Begins to feel her life slipping away
Am D
She cried, "do you know how it feels"
Am D
Yes, She cried "Do you know how it feels"
Chorus
G D
How far must I fall
Em C
Before I lose it all
G Em D
I'm stuck in this place so wrong
G D
Cause I'm laid out on the floor
Em C
Can't feel my heart anymore
G D G
God help me… I want to be strong
Home became some dirty motel
The tracks on her arms lead from Heaven to Hell
Asking favours of God while courting the Devil
Her loved ones now just a memory
No longer she has any place she should be
This is not the fairytale her mom use to tell
Chorus
Am Em
Bridge- Thought she was just having fun
Am Em
Didn't mean to hurt anyone
Am Em
Loved the high, couldn't say no
D
Didn't think she'd fall this low
Chorus
Final line God help me… I want to be strong Em
God help me….I want to be strong……God help me

Nicely done. I really love the lines:
“The tracks on her arms lead from Heaven to Hell
Asking favours of God while courting the Devil”
I think the music is not nearly as dark as the lyrics though and would love to hear something more sinister.
