I wrote this one with Patrick Adams, Kris Tiscareno & Brad Hacker. That's Troy Johnson on vocals.

Brent,
Like the melody and the flow.
Lyrics are pretty tight and there is some good imagry there.
I think the reversal of drinking someone ON your mind is pretty unique and catchy. Nicely done on that.
The vocal delivery and overall vibe should make it marketable in todays current environment. Thanks for sharing Brent.

There’s a lot to love about this song. First, the song title grabs you of course- such a teaser to figure out how this thing is going to work lol. But it’s tight all the way through with a very punchy melody. Clever rhymes and near-rhymes with Sangria and see ya, and older… mostly sober, and bad decisions…wasn’t that some livin’, etc. BUT the hook for me is something so subtle and weird- it’s in the fully unexpected melody line in the last 2 lines of the chorus- what is this…like some kind of Arabesque string line on ‘hit rewind and drink you on my mind’ lol. Makes me want to hear it again and again, and I don’t know why. Last point: If I call my new band Budget Buzzed do I need to pay you guys a royalty?! Hahaha- another excellent song, keep inspiring us

Woah oh, we made some bad decisions
Woah oh, but wasn’t that some livin’
If you’re one of my hometown crew
Hell, yeah, still think about you
Those Fridays ridin’ into the sunset
Every time I’m shootin’ whiskey
I’m rockin’ like you’re here with me
Back when budget buzzed was all we could get
I’m older, mostly sober
But still who I used to be
And the bottle hits the throttle
On all our memories
CHORUS:
You might get that 2am phone call
If I keep raisin’ this glass
Wake you up and roll back the hands of time
Funny how it goes so fast
Yeah I love to hit rewind
When I drink you on my mind
And if you’re one of my backhome girls
I still see those curves and curls
Windin’ roads and parties on the sandbar
And everytime I sip Sangria
I can close my eyes and see ya
Dancin’ slow and breakin’ my damn heart
I’m older, mostly sober
But still who I used to be
And the bottle hits the throttle
On all our memories
CHORUS
Woah oh, we made some bad decisions
Woah oh, but wasn’t that some livin’
Woah oh, here’s to reminiscin’
Woah oh, ‘n lovin’ every minute
CHORUS
