Started as a one-way conversation
With a member of the congregation
of Heaven's church that sits up in the sky
Sounds crazy but I'm just saying
I've never been good at praying
but a chat with Dad is just what I needed tonight
He was my biggest fan and the only man
who could knock me down with a stare
he never let me slack, but he had my back
he was tough but he was fair

I was driving home feeling all alone
I started talking to the clouds
As I shared my day, I swear I heard him say "son,
you make me proud." I heard out loud.
