This song was originally inspired by the following video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrZXz10FcVM) about Gladys Wilson working with Alzheimer's patients (REALLY WORTH THE WATCH). It was finished when my Aunty Mary fell into a coma and passed away. It is a song about the power of music, and yes, it is a song that alludes to dying (I always think there is a massive market in funeral songs - as pretty much everyone is going to die at some stage in their life). The song is released and can be found on all distribution channels.

(In memory of Aunty Mary)
The lights have been dim for a while now
Her memories a daisy chain
Needing so much morphine
Every hour to numb the pain
The nurse comes in with her medicine
Not given a second glance
She sees a picture beside the bed
The joy of the wedding dance
The nurse starts singing a simple song
From her younger days…
Chorus:
And her eyes spark as she hears the melody
The rhythm rocks her body like a wave
Everything fades away…
She's 21 again
Long after the nurse left
Angels could hear her whispering
The melody still lingering
She could feel no pain
Chorus:
And her eyes spark as she hears the melody
The rhythm rocks her body like a wave
Everything fades away…
She's 21 again
As she closed her eyes
For the final goodbye
She hummed the sweetest lullaby
Chorus:
And her eyes spark as she sings the melody
The rhythm rocks her body like a wave
Everything fades away... She's 21 again
She's dancing with her lover
With the stars above her
For the very last time
Chorus:
And her eyes spark as she sings the melody
The rhythm rocks her body like a wave
Everything fades away...
She's 21 again
