2020 has brought out the worst in us. There is a temptation to see people through the lens of "good guy - bad guy". I went into self reflection for this song and asked myself, "What do I believe?"
Can anyone advise what genre you would put this in? I'm thinking Indie/Folk or Folk/Rock - neither of which is an option here. I'm releasing this as a single in November 2020.

Some people I value for their company,
I'm not made to be alone.
Some people I value for their wisdom,
If their mind is in tune with my own.
Occasionally I meet someone who attracts me,
And changes the way I see.
Nobody is worthless, but we're all unworthy.
That's What I Believe.
CHORUS
I believe, I believe,
Everybody is entitled to their dignity.
I believe, I believe,
We are made in the image of God.
We are made in the image of God.
Some people I can't seem to take to.
And I find them hard to love.
Some people get wounds when they're near me,
I'm a lion - when I should be a dove.
Eventually I remember my creator
And that always humbles me.
You're made in His image, I must respect you.
That's What I Believe.
CHORUS
Some people are brilliant reflectors,
And they bounce back the face of the Son.
Some people believe they're our betters,
But there's a stain on everyone.
But whosoever comes as a believer
Is gonna wind up clean.
Every single one of us needs saving,
That's What I Believe.
CHORUS
(Ad lib) Nobody's worthless.
