This is an uptempo fun country song about anticipating a girls-only weekend trip to the beaches of Mexico. Lying in the sun by day-sipping margaritas at sunset- and dancing to the steel drum band by night. One rule: No significant others invited. I hope you enjoy it.

You Can’t Get There From Here
Words and music by Allan Rosensweig
Verse 1:
We’re gonna be packing light, waking up to an early flight
Going southbound, just me and a few of my girlfriends
We can’t wait to kick our feet in the waves along the beach
Leaving this town, taking a four-day weekend
We’ve been saving up our pennies for fiesta time
Some tequilla and some lime
Chorus:
We’re gonna be lying on the sand this time tomorrow
Next to those brown-eyed boys, wearing those sombreros
We’ll be sipping margaritas as the sunset disappears
Don’t try to find us, you can’t get there from here
Verse 2:
Gonna be working on our tans
At night there’s a steel drum band
Gonna let a stranger lead us to the dance floor
We’ll be underneath those tiki torches down by the dock
Where the party never stops
Chorus:
We’re gonna be lying on the sand this time tomorrow
Next to those brown-eyed boys, wearing those sombreros
We’ll be sipping margaritas as the sunset disappears
Don’t try to find us, you can’t get there from here
Bridge:
This is gonna sound mean, so mean but we don’t care
It’s a girls weekend and we won’t wish you were there
Chorus:
We’re gonna be lying on the sand this time tomorrow
And you know what they say “what happens down in Mexico”
We’ll be sipping margaritas as the sunset disappears
Don’t try to find us, you can’t get there from here
Oh don’t try to find us you can’t get there from here

I could hear Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill, or Martina McBride singing this. Maybe all of them could?
