About This Song

Story of my hurt as King for both Masonry and the Shrine giving for free to try and bring about peace and love. Also about the acceptance of all my creative gifts to help others and the hurt that festers in my heart and soul for being excluded.

Hi John. First, this is not a Johnny Cash song. It was originally recorded and performed by Nine Inch Nails. Johnny’s is a cover version of the song, Also, be cautious of using either lyrics or music of someone else’s creation on your own material without gaining permission and releasing it to the public. It could result in legal action, even if your intent was not to claim as your own. Good luck.

My efforts all go through transformation once producers get their hands upon my material.  Those that I deem worthy of production. Those that don’t make the cut at the end of the day remain simply good reading material. I understand that commercial reproduction using someone else music is a no fly zone the works never remain as they are musically. Most will most likely never see production due to the investments required. The point simply is that many iconic works melodically speak to me in a higher sense. I have to be moved by the art in order to write from my heart. All my lyricals are my own. Bottom line is that it will be the melodies which frame these works should they be framed at all will change. None of my humble efforts are for sale. And upon my death which I hope is a long ways off these efforts will be donated to Masonry and the Shrine 50/50. To date I have neither performed nor made a profit on my art. It is used to inspire and give love. Coming from being homeless four times I have come to realize my gifts are in a few areas: writing lyrically, poetically entertainment production execution with 23 years experience facilitating oldtimers hockey games with NHL greats Shrine circuses to name a couple and politics. Bottom line is that I appreciate the heads up with relation to the 50/50 marriage of words and music it is not intended to be reproduced using existing music that inspired my pen. Just trying to express myself . I do tend to get carried away.

I hurt within today
The same as yesterday
I embrace my pain
Trusting in my heart
Their absence is my wound
The old familiar thing
Trying to give it, everyday
But sadly they've left, sad to say

What have I done?
Why am I last?
All of my passion and love
Goes to her in the end
And she will take it all
All my pain and hurt
Even after I'm gone
My soul shall carry on through hurt

I am the king of old
Sitting in my plain old chair
Full of love filled dreams
That have escaped my care
Beneath the strains of loss
The feelings ebb and flow
You're with someone else
I am still right here

What have I done?
Why am I last?
All of my passion and love
Goes to her in the end
And she will take it all
All my pain and hurt
Even after I'm gone
My soul shall carry on through hurt

If I could start again
Right here is where I'd be
I'm not going to risk myself
My soul is mine today
