About This Song

Originally written in 1994 complete with a 1 min guitar intro! I reworked it last year, changing it to half time feel and getting a friend of mine to sing it. All thats left from '94 version is guitar solo.

I really enjoyed this song!! A great vibe and groove. I’m sure so many can relate to the words as well.

Hi thanks for having a listen . It’s an old song that I found a while back and changed groove to a half time feel and I think it does work much better this way

You wake up scarred

Written by James Hanley

You Wake Up Scarred (Lyrics by Eamon Hehir)

Whatever happens now only time will tell
Whatever happens now, you can only blame yourself
When you try so hard, pleasing everybody
You put yourself to sleep, but before you know

You wake up scarred

Is it possible, I don’t understand you
Am I trying to find
The friend that I used to know
When you chase a dream I never can be part of
When its not your dream before too long

You Wake up scarred

O why don’t you try to take it easy
O why don’t you try, don’t you try, don’t you try

Every thing is, is a pale reminder
of everything that was, and all that you once were
and I hope you find
everything you look for
but you might drift too far and before you know
