Trying to capture the struggle of wanting to leave behind a painful memory but not quite knowing how to do it.
Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and give me your thoughts!

Hi Chad. Loved every minute of this. Modern, catchy, rockin’. Lovin’ the synth type arpeggio running in the background. Great job on the production too. That’s what we should all be aiming write.

Verse 1
I couldn’t sleep again tonight
So I’m out here on this highway
I don’t know what else I can do
In trying to outrun this heartache And the thought of you walking away And out of my life
Chorus
How far do I have to drive before
I leave behind your memory?
How many miles will it take until
The thought of you won’t make my heart break? Every white line is telling me that I
Am further from the past
But how far, how far till I don’t want you back?
Verse 2
Is it the rain or these tears in my eyes, Somethings got me blinded
The radio doesn’t help at all
Cause every song reminds me
Of the night you let go of my hand And you never looked back.
Bridge
I’m gonna keep on keepin on Until I am over you

Hi Chad,
Really nice sounding song, and a really nice sounding demo. If you recorded all of this in your home recording studio, I am JEALOUS. Sounds really good. Really nice melody. Great production. If that’s you singing, you got a great voice. Kind of Keith Urban sounding…. In reading the lyrics: The two lines “the night you let go of my hand, and you never looked back”, maybe those say the same thing, not to mention that last line of the first verse kinda says the same thing too. Maybe that last line of the second verse could say something else or something more? Just a tought. I love the first three lines of that second verse. Very easy to visualize that scene in the car. You could even say something about having to turn the radio off, as if you can’t even listen to it. Heck, I’d even say that if it were me, not only would the every sad song remind me of her leaving, but even the happy, love songs would hurt too with reminders of her. Just some very amateurish thoughts from me…. Something off the wall that I thought of reading your lyrics is that, in most songs, the guy’s racing down the highway chasing after the girl, but in your song, you’re running away, she’s running away, everyone’s running away! Lol.
Anyway, great song. Thanks for sharing.
