Because there are many songs that reference Daytona, but few actually about Daytona.
Any
“Cute as sprinkles on an ice cream cone”. I love that line. Unique and rolls off the tongue nicely.
I know it would make that line too long, but “college girls” goes good with that first line with the c and s sounds. “College girls cute as sprinkles on an ice cream cone”. For the second line, something about “some as hot as summer in San Antone”.
Anyway, just spitballing a little. Nice job on your song!

Just had another comment on that one line: When you read those lines, it makes you picture either an ice cream cone, or cute college girls from San Antone, right? Maybe a tweak or two to your lines would make the listener picture cute college girls with eating ice cream cones with sprinkles? Just a thought on that one. Thanks for sharing your song.

Daytona (Hell Yeah)
James Edwards
Copyright (c) 2013
Heard a voice so loud it woke me up
in the middle of of a dream
It was the girls of spring break callin out to me
Saying "boy you need to get down here"
So I threw my old blue truck in gear
Made it to Daytona Beach
Soon as I pulled out my guitar
There was a girl on my arm
She said "keep rocking me baby"
So I rocked her all night long
Hell Yeah
Everything from debutantes to farmer's daughters
Hell Yeah
Everywhere string bikinis in the water
Hell Yeah
Daytona, I've been up for two days now
Hell Yeah
That don't mean I'm slowin down
Cute as sprinkles on an ice cream cone
These college girls from San Antone
Singing karaoke and drinking beer (beer!)
Bike Week going down on Mainstreet
Nascar running at the speedway
But I think I'll stay right here
Bring another round of tequila
'Cuz I'm about to get bombed
With these cowgirls from Montana
And these suicide blondes
Hell Yeah
Everything from debutantes to farmer's daughters
Hell Yeah
Everywhere string bikinis in the water
Hell Yeah
Daytona, I've been up for three days now
Hell Yeah
That don't mean I'm slowin down
I've only got a week, then it's back to the farm
But down some quiet country road
Is the last place I wanna go
Right now
Right now
Man I love this town
Hell Yeah
Everything from debutantes to farmer's daughters
Hell Yeah
Everywhere string bikinis in the water
Hell Yeah
Daytona, I've been up for four days now
Hell Yeah
That don't mean I'm slowin down
Daytona
Hell Yeah

Hi James
I really got a good feeling listening to this song of yours! Had some good lyrics but I think the music could be a bit stronger sort of more rocking country to make it pop more. Also I think your bridge could be much stronger than it is. I can hear Cole Swindell playing this as it reminded me of one of his songs. Good job though and keep em coming!! Thanks for sharing
