About This Song

I wrote this song at a point in my life where I was at a crossroads. My life was getting better but those ghosts from the past had ways of crawling back.

Emma,

Really cool - kind of a southern rock feel to it. And I agree with Earl - great singing. My only critique point would be that you change the pronoun in the chorus from “you” to “he” which is confusing. Are you talking about the same person or two different people? If it’s two people, then the “meet me at the crossroad” line is also confusing - which one?

Regardless of that issue - this is a great song.

AT THE CROSSROADS

Written by Emma Lane

Oh Lord it's been such a long time comin'

Oh Lord don't fail me now.

Well I swallowed my pride but the devil walks in stride

And I'm gonna run him down...

Oh I don't know

Did I save my soul?

No I don't know.

Are you gonna save me?

Or is he gonna take me?

Is he gonna steal my soul?

Meet me at the crossroads.

Well it's hard to tell but I knew him so well

Back when I was so young.

And I gave him my blood but it wasn't enough,

When I tried to be someone.

Oh I don't know

Did I save my soul?

No, I don't know.

Are you gonna save me?

Or is he gonna take me?

Is he gonna steal my soul?

Meet me at the crossroads.

I drank myself numb so the pain wouldn't come,

I started to slowly fade away...

And I looked at my house that the wolf had blown down,

What a beautiful mess I made.

Oh I don't know

Did I save my soul?

No, I don't know.

Are you gonna save me?

Or is he gonna take me?

Is he gonna steal my soul?

Meet me at the crossroads.
