About This Song

Modern Country Crossover/ Christian. This is a female vocal but the song is not gender specific.

It was painful to write so it took a while to finish. I still feel it .... every time

Feedback Requested

I would value all opinions and suggestions but most of all Id just like to know how it made you feel..... thanks in advance!

I Loved it Immedietaly Vickie, great voice, very passionate, the only thing that was confusing was who was dying and who was going off to war, but it’s great song nonetheless

Thank you, Joseph!
Jennifer Nelson is one of the most talented artists and vocalists I’ve ever heard in Nashville and its always an honor to work with her;)
If you don’t mind, please tell me which part is confusing you?

Where are the lyrics?

I didn’t listen to the whole song. Is the verse after the chorus a different story or is it tied into the first?

Thank you Ronnie, for bringing that to my attention! Yikes!
The 1st verse is set with a little boy with his dying mother.
The 2nd verse is a little girl letting go of her daddy and might not ever see again.
The 3rd verse is the last conversation between Jesus and the 2 thieves on the cross, one of which believed in Him and went to heaven with Him.
All of the scenarios represent the depths of love that even fear of death cannot stop.
I’m in process of doing a male demo now and plan to swap places with the 1st and 2nd verse and start out with the Officer and his little girl.
Thank you for taking the time to listen and reach out. I will certainly do the same;) Blessings!

Nice and heartfelt—only issue for me was that the bridge (Jesus and the thieves) seems a little weak (both lyrically and musically) in comparison to the first two verses.

That notwithstanding, I am guessing that someone (singer) will be interested in recording this one.

Best wishes in all your musical endeavors!!!

Take Me With You

Written by vicky walker

"TAKE ME WITH YOU"
V WALKER/ J NELSON/ P HARRIS ASCAP 2013

HE STOOD BY HER HOSPITAL BED AS HER HEART GOT WEAK
DR SAID IT WONT BE LONG, ITS TIME FOR HER TO SLEEP
BUT HER LITTLE MAN COULD BARELY STAND THE PAIN
AND WITH NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE HE CRIED OUT HER NAME

MOMMY TAKE ME WITH YOU
I PROMISE ILL BE GOOD
ILL ALWAYS HOLD YOUR HAND AND ACT JUST LIKE I SHOULD
TAKE ME WITH YOU.....ILL STAY RIGHT BY YOUR SIDE
WE'LL COUNT TO THREE AND THEN WE'LL CLOSE OUR EYES....
MOMMY TAKE ME WITH YOU

SHE STOOD THERE STARING UP AT HIM, A DECORATED MAN
FLYING OFF TO FIGHT A WAR NO FIGHT COULD EVER WIN
BUT HIS LITTLE GIRL LIKE A THOUSAND THERE BEFORE
COULDNT BEAR THE PAIN OF LOSING HER WHOLE WORLD

DADDY TAKE ME WITH YOU
I PROMISE ILL BE GOOD
ILL ALWAYS HOLD YOUR HAND AND ACT JUST LIKE I SHOULD
TAKE ME WITH YOU.....ILL STAY RIGHT BY YOUR SIDE
WE'LL COUNT TO TEN THEN RUN AWAY AND HIDE
DADDY TAKE ME WITH YOU

A THIEF WAS HANGING ON HIS RIGHT
THE FINAL BLOW RAN THRU HIS SIDE
AND THE GUILTY MAN THERE ON HIS LEFT SAID REMEMBER ME, LORD AS HE WEPT

JESUS TAKE ME WITH YOU
WITHOUT YOU IM NO GOOD
I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND LIKE I ALWAYS KNEW I COULD
TAKE ME WITH YOU.....TO THE OTHER SIDE
WHERE THE ANGELS LIVE WITH YOU IN PARADISE
AND LOVE NEVER HAS TO SACRIFICE
JESUS TAKE ME WITH YOU
