I Haven’t Hit the Bottle Yet

It’s been three years now maybe a little more when I laid that bottle down
Temptations have confronted me, and they always come around
It wouldn’t take much to turn to the wine just to have a sip
Or hold my breath with Mary Jane while I took a hit
Let me tell ya’ I haven’t hit the bottle yet
I don’t drink I don’t smoke I don’t even take a toke
Those days of flying high are behind me now
This wagon ride that I am on has got me walkin’ the line
Boy, I miss my whiskey, beer, smoke, and wine….
When I use to drink, I use to think that nothing could do me wrong
play my guitar in the honky-tonks and I sing all my songs
and the boys in the band they would jam along, and we partied till the light of dawn
just singin’ this song makes me want to drink and smoke a cigarette
but no need to fret I haven’t hit the bottle yet
I don’t drink I don’t smoke I don’t even need a toke
Those days of flying high are behind me now
This wagon ride that I am on has got me walkin’ the line
Boy, I sure do miss my whiskey, my beer, smoke, and wine….
