Tom T Hill was a good friend of mine and sadly passed away a couple of years ago from Cancer.
It took a while but I finally sat down and wrote this song, "The Ballad Of Tom T Hill" for him.
As always any and all feedback welcome...

Verse 1
He loved Merle and he loved fishin’
He loved pickin’ and he loved singin’
Made friends everywhere that he played -
They're with him still today
He grew up on Dwyer Hill Road
A better friend you will never know
Met him when I was a young man
And so proud to call him friend
Chorus
And he’d greet you with that charming smile and say Tom T Hill’s the name
He loved playin’ country music didn’t want fortune or fame
On Saturday’s you could join him down at Danby’s Bar and Grill
So raise a glass and play a Haggard song to our old friend Tom T Hill
SOLO
Verse 2
He’d sing the Hags Mama Tried
Some Willie Nelson and Charley Pride
Didn’t care if you could carry a tune
He’d gladly share his stage with you
For ten years he ran that show
Till the good Lord called him home
We still have all the memories
Of the man we love and knew
Let’s raise a glass and play a Haggard song to our old friend Tom T Hill
