As a huge Roy Orbison fan this was my attempt to pay tribute to one of my favorite singers, artists and definitely writers...enjoy. Released in 1996 on my album - "What The World Doesn't Know"
Any feedback is always welcome
Ok if I follow your question then it would be…
V1 - Return & Learn - Curse & Worst (asinine, near rhyme)
V2 - Trust & Us - Honestly & me
As far as iambic pentameter goes…sorry way out of my league of writing..lol

Not knowing when you leave if you'll come back again
Verse 1
Where are you going, what time will you return?
It's the same old questions, when will I ever learn?
My doubt it haunts me like some evil curse
Each time you close the door I think the worst
Chorus
Not knowing why, not knowing where you go
Not knowing if you'll be coming home
Verse 2
You say that love is built on faith and trust
And my suspicious mind only puts a wall between us
I know about trust but what about honesty
And if you care so much why do you leave me
Chorus
Not knowing why, not knowing where you go
Not knowing when you'll be coming home
Bridge
This time when you leave you won't come home to me
Cause I'm walking away without a word
You'll be the one waiting all alone
Not knowing where I am, not knowing who I'm with
Not knowing if I'll come back again

What is the rhythmic pattern here. I’m trying to put an iambic pentameter to the first line of the first verse. Thanks
