We can manage to put on a strong front during the daylight hours....but then comes the night.

I should have said, “I was going along listening to the song, and liking it a LOT—but “THEN COMES THE BRIDGE” (a small takeoff on your title)—HA!!!

Marvin…obviously you are really talented so I’m gonna be nick picky here. More word smithing than anything. Great Melody, Great Song. Don’t think you need the word “just” in either the first verse or the second. Actually think you can take it completely out of the song. Also the word “that”. I might play with removing “I watched” from the second verse as well…“In the blink of an eye our dreams disappeared”. Again just my opinion. Keep up the good work.

Hi Marvin,
This is beautiful! The melody is gorgeous and that hook is dynamic. I wish you the best of luck with this winner!

This site is the first time I’ve ever heard of Marvin, and I don’t know him except through his songs which I find are some of the best I’ve heard, So I think Marvin is a computer generated songwriter from Nashville writing under an assumed name Like Richard Bachman novels who is really Stephen King…Just kidding Marvin I haven’t really heard a bad song from you

You also have some of the most Poignent pictures posted with the songs..some of them tell the story by themselves But your a heartbreaker Marvin

Thanks Bob, Charles, Bobby and Joseph for the heartwarming comments. And yes Joseph, I am a computer generated artificial intelligence designed specifically to study the algorithms of songwriting. Ha! If only it were that simple. Thanks again everyone!

OMG, this is an amazing song and production Marvin! Wow! I agree with Bob, it’s radio ready and you should shop the heck out of it.
Is that you singing, and which instruments are you playing on the track?
I’m blown away by how well you did all of the many things we do as songwriters to create this magnificent song!

I go to work each day like nothings changed
Our friends just can’t believe how strong I am
I say that I’m OK, sometimes life gets rearranged
You have to learn to take it like a man
Then comes the night, and voices start callin’
Just like the light, my teardrops start fallin’
I completely break down, go to black from white
I have my feet on the ground, but then comes the night
We never said goodbye, I turned around and you weren’t here
I could not convince myself at first
How in the blinking of an eye I watched our dreams just disappear
I only thought that I had felt the worst
Then comes the night, and voices start callin’
Just like the light, my teardrops start fallin’
I completely break down, go to black from white
I have my feet on the ground, but then comes the night
I pray to lose this hurt of being left alone
With my knees in this dirt and my hands upon your stone
Here comes the night, and voices start callin’
Just like the light, my teardrops start fallin’
I completely break down, go to black from white
I have my feet on the ground, but then comes the night
I go to work each day, like nothings changed

WOW—Marvin, if you don’t go shop this one around, and I mean SERIOUSLY shop it around, they need to shoot you—this is a GREAT song—I liked it a LOT—THEN I got to the bridge, and I just broke down and cried without stopping—if you ask me, you “hit this one out of the park”—I don’t usually gush this much—also, the production was really outstanding (right on the money) and the singer did a WONDERFUL job (just curious, who is the singer?)—I think this one is “radio ready,” JUST THE WAY IT SITS—and of course, I WISH I HAD WRITTEN THIS ONE.
My hat is off to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this is easily the best song I’ve heard on Frettie out of the (roughly) 100 I’ve listened to so far—(only been on here about 1 or 2 weeks). OK, I’ll shut up now!!! ![]()
