I wanted to try something different and do a continuous recording right after describing my song. This was recorded on my phone, and is about leaving for college and battling with the struggles of missing family and wondering if it was all worth it.
I am looking for feedback on the concept, lyrics, and whatever else you think is worth giving me feedback on. If you want to take a stab at tweaking some of the lyrics, feel free to do so in the comments. I can also add the lyrics if you think it will help. I also apologize for the weird spikes in the song. Not sure what those are about, but hopefully they are not too distracting. If so I will post a new version. Note: I did do a small edit right after the intro, due to a minor flub.
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll be sure to add the lyrics so you can provide more details. Glad to hear it is on the right track.

Dennis, I would agree with Dick. I listened but would like to hear it with the lyrics or maybe on some hardware that would make the vocals a little more clear.

Thanks for your feedback Kenny! Yes, Lyrics will be posted very soon and I think with most of my songs it may help you guys out, due to the lack of great recording equipment.

Waiting for lyrics! First impression is positive. Good hook. Nice contrast in the melody of the bridge. You have a good voice for country!

I like this one Dennis, but as others have stated, would really like to see the lyrics.

Hey all, many have requested, and I’ve finally added the lyrics to this song. Hope this help in giving feedback. This was one of my earlier songs, so It’s def. a rough one, but happy to have shared it. Def. brings back some memories.

Verse 1:
Sitting here in this chair staring at these walls, wishing you were here
I count the days and the nights, wondering when I'll hold you tight
This hurts me more than this hurts you, watching you go with nothing i can do
I'd say I'm sorry but it's not enough, cause in my heart I know it's tough
Chorus:
I didn't mean to hurt you
I didn't mean to make you cry
But I sat back and I asked myself, Why? Oh Why?
Is it worth it, I don't know, I guess so
One things for sure, this is a hard lesson learned.
Verse 2:
When I call you to hear your voice, I ask myself why this choice?
Every picture of you and me, reminds me of the great times we had
Leaving you and my family, and the people I love
Made me see
I didn't mean to hurt you
I didn't mean to make you cry
But I sat back and I asked myself, Why? Oh Why?
Is it worth it, I don't know, I guess so
One things for sure, this is a hard lesson learned.
Bridge: (I think)
I know it's hard now, but in just a while,
I'll be, on my way
But before I go, I want you to know
I didn't mean to hurt you
I didn't mean to make you cry
But I sat back and I asked myself, Why? Oh Why?
Is it worth it, I don't know, I guess so
One things for sure, this is a hard lesson learned.
This was a hard lesson learned.

Dennis,
It would be easier to comment on content if you could post the lyrics. I couldn’t catch all of the words in the verses.
I like the feel of this a lot. You matched the melancholy theme with a chord progression and melody that supports it well. I like your phrasing in the chorus and that you changed up the chords in the chorus (vs. the verse). The bridge (I think it was the bridge) seemed a little long to me, but I want to see the lyric before I really mean this comment (ha ha).
I’ll give you more feedback once I see the lyric. Good song, though.
