A song I wrote for a friend who passed away last January (2018).
Thanks Gordon. I am especially pleased to hear you liked the production, as I did it myself.

Sorry for your loss :(
On the song, fantastic voice and sound, and I do love that opening line “There was no song I could find so I thought I would write mine”
I know constructive criticism should have things to improve but I don’t have ideas there. Only thing I can think of for me, purely on the production side and purely personal taste if this was a song I was playing with in the recording software, is I’d try a small tweak to the rhythm acoustic, to give it a little more bass / body, and just slightly less bite; but not too big a shift as I think it adds an “edge” to the sound that is appropriate. But that’s kind of fishing for things to think of to suggest!

I am also sorry for your loss. This song was very good. Your voice, the melody, the lyrics, etc. It seems this is one of those songs where everything came together and made everything just right. I really wish there were more people like your friend and that I could have met him. What a Lovely tribute, you can definitely feel the loss.

Verse 1:
There was no song I could find
So I thought that I'd write mine
To share my feelings of you
Verse 2:
It was 10 years ago
We met as our wheels rolled
Right away I knew I loved you
Chrous:
You were a kind and gentle man
Always there to lend a helping hand
With one word you could always change the mood
Life was fantastic with you
Verse 3:
There wasn't a soul you didn't touch
A community of trust
Everywhere around the globe you traveled
Verse 4:
When the world seemed a little dim
You would gently lift my chin
And tell a joke to make me smile
Chorus:
You were a kind and gentle man
Always there to lend a helping hand
With one word you could always change the mood
Life was fantastic with you
--Guitar solo--
Chrous:
You were a kind and gentle man
Always there to lend a helping hand
With one word you could always change the mood
Life was fantastic with you
Verse 5:
Now that it's time to say goodbye
I want to bow my head and cry
But you wouldn't want me to do this
Verse 6:
You would make me face the day
You would wipe my tears away
Memories of you I'll always cherish
Ending Chrous:
You were a kind and gentle man
Always there to lend a helping hand
With one word you could always change the mood
Life was fantastic with you
Life was fantastic with you
Life was fantastic with you
I'll always miss you
