Genre: Country
I'm recording this tomorrow. I'm thinking of changing some of the lyrics. I've been listening a lot to Ralph Murphy, so I'm wondering if this should not use. I'm in the first opening.
Also something that doesn't say I like my women country? Thanks
Feedback on the lyrics.
No bridge yet. I have ditched this song for other songs. But I appreciate the feedback. Other feedback I received on this song was along the lines of. Nobody is going to want to get this drunk so it would be hard to get a big name to sing something like this. It was to predictable. It didn’t have enough unique imagery. Etc. I’m totally grateful for that feedback and for yours. Thank you. Maybe I’ll take another shot at this and in the second round. Puns intended. The song will make a stronger statement.

Well I’m not a sinner
I’m not a saint
But I like my Woman Country
And I like my whiskey straight
Raised on christian values
But my pop he taught me son
Ain't nothing wrong with drinkin’
Let me show you how it’s done.
Chorus:
Drink down your whiskey and raise your bottle high
Cause hell ya never know when it will be your time to die
And if you go to heaven, well heaven might be dry
So drink down your whiskey and raise your bottle high
We make our whiskey strong it will warm you up inside
It will make you feel so happy
It will build your sense of pride
When you’re feelin’ down
It will brighten up your day
A lesson that my dad taught
and here is what he’d say
Chorus:
Drink down your whiskey and raise your bottle high
Cause hell ya never know when it will be your time to die
And if you go to heaven, well heaven might be dry
So drink down your whiskey and raise your bottle high
It ain’t your store bought whiskey
It’s like your old Jim Beam
A little bathtub gin and some moonshine kerosene.
We make it in the backwoods
Cause that’s all we ever know
So drink up your whiskey son
Before your mom gets home.
Chorus:
Drink down your whiskey and raise your bottle high
Cause hell ya never know when it will be your time to die
And if you go to heaven, well heaven might be dry
So drink down your whiskey and raise your bottle high
I wrote this here last verse
When that whiskey had me skunked
I started philosophizing like a good fashioned drunk
So If you're in the country you should stop by for a drink
And you can meet my dad and he’ll tell you what he thinks.
Chorus:
Drink down your whiskey and raise your bottle high
Cause hell ya never know when it will be your time to die
And if you go to heaven, well heaven might be dry
So drink down your whiskey and raise your bottle high
Raise your bottle high
