Hey, Billy!  Thanks for sharing your song.  I like the title- it intrigues me because I don’t know what it’s about just from the title.

I like that it’s a father daughter song, but it isn’t a slow ballad.  I like the metaphor of the apple tree the play on “roots.”

Some good stuff going on here!  Please play it forward by commenting on another songwriter’s track.  Thanks!

Corey & Brent - thank you both for taking time to give feedback.

Brent - any suggestions on where I can make it stronger?

I really like this song because of the wonderful sentiment which is its subject, and the simple but attractive arrangement.  I just uploaded a song called LITTLE STONE with a similar sentiment about my five-year-old granddaughter. You don’t know where life will take them, and you want to protect them. Good job on this tune.

Apple Tree

(Verse)
You and me
The apple didn’t fall far from the tree
I swear that you
Got every bit of my attitude
Wear our hearts on our sleeves
Got a bond
Thick as thieves
So much of me I see in you

(Chorus)
When you’re scared, or confused, when you’re lonesome
When this crazy world becomes too much
Come to me, I’ll be here cuz I’ve been there
Always remember where your roots come from
Its never too far
Right there inside your heart
I’ll always be
Love…Your Apple Tree

(Verse)
I remember that day we took the training wheels off
And the fear in your eyes
I had to let go, you had to fall down
The only way you’d realize
That life will be full of bumps and of bruises
And they would hurt me more than they hurt you

(Chorus)
When you’re scared, or confused, when you’re lonesome
When this crazy world becomes too much
Come to me, I’ll be here cuz I’ve been there
Always remember where your roots come from
Its never too far
Right there inside your heart
I’ll always be
Love….Your Apple Tree
