I wrote this for my grandpa after he passed away.
Hey Travis! I agree with Dennis - Great, simple, sweet, and from the heart. And awesome demo! The fiddle/uncluttered arrangement really compliments the sentiment.
I also agree with Dennis about sharing more about your grandfather. It’s clear that it’s about someone who’s passed, but I would love to get involved with his memory. Tell us about the impact he had on your life in specifics.
I’d also play around a little more with the melody. I think a little more contrast between verse melody and chorus melody would really help differentiate the sections.
Post more of your work! I’d love to hear.

Travis, such a simple sound. Thanks for sharing. I like how you didn’t try to complicate this song to much. You got to the point. I could see where you could really take this to the next level by maybe drilling down just a bit deeper passed the surface. For example: I’d like to hear more about Grandpa. Was he a big supporter in your songwriting? Is that where the connection to writing a song came from? l I like the concept of the song for sure. Sometimes as songwriters, the best thing we can do in tough times is put our feelings into another song. I’d love to hear what others think about it. Thanks for posting it!
