Basically, in an attempt to fight off some serious boredom, my cousin and I decided to write the ultimate folk song... something catchy... something simple... something that made us think of old school, train hoppin', hobo folk. This is the result.
I'd love to know what you think - good or bad... just be kind!
Jon, I love this song! Its a nice “feel good” song that has a reminiscing type feeling to it. Good job! Would love to hear more.

Ive liked this song for a while. The double vocal makes it for me, Im a harmony junkie. The lyrics are poetic like all of your stuff. Awesome.

Jon, Great song. I spend a lot of time down in folk/bluegrass country and this is definitely an ultimate folk song. Your lyrics are catchy, imaginative, and filled with imagery that paint a picture, and I am sure many others can see it as well. “Time won’t let until your through, but nows the time for living so much living left to do” - (paraphrase) = Fantastic! Truly Artistic work. C: Much Love.

Nice song. It sounds like a Phillip Phillips song. I found the double vocal distracting.

Hey Jon, great song, but the harmonizing could be tighter. Other than that it sounds great.

I think this is the perfect example of what independent music should be. The freedom to try things with production that sound amazing and never perfect. The opportunity to stay raw and honest in a recording while still presenting quality. The lyrics that mean something real to the artist, so much so that the audience can hear it and feel it too. You get that vibe from great independent music. It’s the good from the so-called flaws of “amateur” recordings that keep it real, and hard to find in pop radio. Really enjoyed this. Thanks Jon.

Thanks for the feedback, ladies and gents. This was the first version leading up to the album version - there was some touch-up work on the harmonies because there were a couple notes that drove me nuts… but I still left a lot of things uncorrected because I enjoy hearing a reminder every now and then that it was recorded in a basement… with not a professional within a hundred miles. Keeps it honest, ha. But thanks for listening and letting me know what you think!
