A warm 90s country love ballad about how the right person can change a man's outlook on life, turning uncertainty into purpose and giving him the courage to dream beyond tomorrow.

You're The Reason
Written By Christopher Mason
You're the reason I stopped answerin' "I don't know"
When somebody asks me where I want this life to go
The reason I can see beyond
next week,
next month,
next year
You're the reason...
Friends of mine talked about where they'd be in ten years
I'd laugh and tell 'em I was just tryin' to get through this year
Every dream I ever had ended with "Maybe"
I never looked for answers when it was only me
I couldn't outrun tomorrow
'til there was somethin' worth runnin' to
You're the reason I stopped answerin' "I don't know"
When somebody asks me where I want this life to go
The reason I can see beyond
next week,
next month,
next year
You're the reason...
My mama used to ask if I'd ever settle down
I'd grin and change the subject every time she came around
I was good at keepin' every door half-open
I thought "the one" was somethin' other people found
'Til you gave this restless heart a place
Turns out forever ain't as hard to see in twos
You're the reason I stopped answerin' "I don't know"
When somebody asks me where I want this life to go
The reason I can see beyond
next week,
next month,
next year
You're the reason...
The reason I don't change the subject anymore
When people ask me what I'm reachin' for
Ever since your heart found mine
I finally showed up on time
You're the reason I stopped answerin' "I don't know"

Just reading the lyrics, I love this. Only change I will suggest is the word “she” to “it” when referring to mom because you don’t avoid her just that subject, “it.”
