This song reminds of “Already Gone” a tune by the Eagles (of course without the “I will sing this victory song” lyrics.) But while that song celebrates leaving a bad relationship and feeling empowered this song doesn’t really say anything except maybe people are busy. To improve it, add a verse about something real in your life but keep the upbeat chorus etc and then I think you might have something.

Life In The Slow Lane

Written by Jeff Roe

LIFE IN THE SLOW LANE
Kyle Jackson-Rachky, Jeff Roe, Steve Smentek

[VERSE 1]
I can’t remember the last time
Didn’t have a million things to do
Man, I’ve forgotten what it feels like
To take in a lakeside view

Livin’ in a world that’s always on
I just wanna switch it off and get gone

[CHORUS]
I wanna take a long drive down
Some red clay road
Where I can’t be found
Let it heal my soul
Take my- foot off the gas
Watch the world pass
Ain’t no winnin’ this rat race
I wanna get back to life
Life in the slow lane

[VERSE 2]
Give me a cold one by a campfire
While I strum this old guitar
Take a deep breath, smell the pine trees
Get lost looking up at the stars

Stop thinking ‘bout what's next
Get a little more of a little less

[CHORUS]

Livin’ in a world that’s always on
I just wanna switch it off

[CHORUS]
