I like this song, but I think you need to work on the second verse..not sure what a Zebco is.. also. i think it’s usually the woman who asks “where is this going” but maybe that’s just me

Thanks Robert, I agree with you feedback and worked on that second verse this morning and made some updates. A Zebco is a fishing pole brand, common for it to be used in country songs.

I really like this idea and the chorus. If it was me, I’d rewrite probably most of the lyrics. You’re definitely grasping at it right there at your fingertips.

Two Rights Are Wrong

Written by Collin Cottrell

[VERSE 1]
I was two hours late for our first date, you still gave me a chance
Next thing I know, it’s every weekend on that lake over the pass
They kept sayin’, “Y’all got somethin’ right, yeah, it’s meant to last”
Didn’t see that love alone ain’t always enough

[PRE-CHORUS]
We tested those waters, but knew we weren’t right
We were both headed down a different path

[CHORUS]
Two rights are wrong, yeah, sometimes that’s the hardest truth
Two good hearts learn love ain’t always bulletproof
We held on tight, yeah, we gave it every chance
But love don’t always mean it’s gonna work out right
Ohhhh… sometimes two rights are wrong
Yeah, this time two rights were wrong

[VERSE 2]
It was one night on that lake, with a Zebco in my hand
Talkin’ ’bout where we’re goin’ from here
I don’t see how we both get where we’re goin’
If we stay right here where we’re at
We both had love, but knew it wouldn’t last

[PRE-CHORUS]
Yeah, we tested those waters, but it just wasn’t right
We were both headed down our own path

[CHORUS]

[BRIDGE]
Saw you back on that lake again
Both of us with families now
Same shoreline, different lives
Funny how it all worked out

[CHORUS]
