About This Song

A King Without A Country thought just came to me. Jesus was born a King . He gave up everything. He had no palace, army, or riches. He came to his own but they did not receive him. He had an army of angels, a throne , a Kingdom. He had no country. The creator of everything gave up all his power, humbled himself and came to love and serve us. Die on a cross ,take our punishment for sin to forgive us when we believe in him.

A King Without A Country-...

Written by David Pellegrini

A King Without A Country
David Pellegrini Nancy Blanford

[Verse 1]
He was born in Bethlehem
A sleepy little town
With cattle, sheep and oxen
Gathered all around
The shepherds on the hillside
Heard the angels sing
Glory in the highest
Praise the newborn king

[Chorus ]
He was a King without a country
A King without a crown
A King without an army
No riches to be found
He chose to leave his Father
Chose to leave his throne
He gave up heaven (he gave up heaven)
To make our world his home

[Verse 2]
Every year at Christmas
All across the earth
We sing about Jesus
To celebrate his birth
About the king who came to serve
The king who came to love
The king who gave up everything
Just to be with us

[Chorus]
He was a king without a country
A king without a crown
A king without an army
No riches to be found
He chose to leave his father
chose to leave his throne
he gave up his kingdom (gave up his kingdom)
To make our world his home

[Bridge]
After 33 years on the earth
They nailed him to a tree
On his head laid a crown of thorns
called him majesty
They whipped his back, pierced his side
Cursed and mocked his name
But before he died, he prayed
Forgive them Father
Don't hold them to blame

[Chorus]
Now he's a King that has a country
He's a King that has a crown
He's a King with an army
On this earth cannot be found
He's Emmanuel, God with us
He's savior, he's Lord
He rose from the dead
And lives forevermore

(Instumental)
[Chorus]
Now he's a king that has a country
He's a king that has a crown
He's a king with an army
On this earth cannot be found
He's Emmanuel, God with us
He's savior, he's Lord
He said believe in me
And live forevermore

[Outro]
Now he's a king that has a country
He's a king that has a crown
He's a king with an army
On this earth cannot be found
He's Emmanuel, God with us
He's savior, he's Lord
When we believe in him
We'll live forevermore
When we believe in him
We'll live forevermore
