"Tooth and Nail" was written by July Morning member Owain Roberts, who shares lead vocals and plays lead guitar within the band, and has featured on The Big Foozle's 'Generation F' compilation CD which showcased a variety of music acts from Sydney. The song is about the trials and tribulations of maintaining the love of another in the face of adversity, brought about by the unwitting criticisms of peers.

Look at them in their lines
They don’t understand what I hold in my hand
Try to stop me I spit in their eyes
They don’t; they don’t; they don’t command
My respect but still they claim
That I owe them for clearing my name
But you
Stop me from falling through
They keep me from loving you
I don’t want to go without you
Fuck all the games they play
They keep the peace with the back of their hand
Don’t listen to a damn thing they say
They can’t; they won’t; but I’ll withstand
All the threats and needless pain
They want me but they want it their way
But you
Stop me from falling through
They keep me from loving you
I don’t want to go without you
Try to see through their lies
I feed them the scraps from the palm of my hand
Try to fight back without asking why
I can’t; I don’t; I won’t let them stand
Against everything that I’ve made
If they want it, they’ll have it my way
But you
Stopped me from falling through
They kept me from loving you
I don’t want to go without you
