I Surrender
Written by Derek Carpenter
Verse 1
The stress of life is really getting me down
I’m needing someone who can get me unwound
Oh woman, oh woman—what you do to me
Take my hand, lead me to the bedroom
Let’s get in a Marvin Gaye kind of mood
Yeah, that Marvin Gaye kind of mood
Chorus
Your body is my escape
I surrender to your lovin’ ways
When we’re skin to skin
And the chill begins
Oh, the vibrations—
I surrender, yeah, I surrender
Verse 2
Being under the sheets is
Enough to bring the heat
Feelin’ your body, oh woman
So close to me, so close to me
That tickin’, tickin’ clock on the wall
The sun will be rising, but we won’t
Notice at all
Chorus
Your body is my escape
I surrender to your lovin’ ways
When we’re skin to skin
And the chill begins
Oh, the vibrations—
I surrender, yeah, I surrender
Bridge
We’re gonna burn down this room
Feelin’ the motion of the groove
Woman, all I need is you
We’re on fire
Final Chorus
Your body is my escape
I surrender to your lovin’ ways
When we’re skin to skin
And the chill begins
Oh, the vibrations—
I surrender, yeah, I surrender

I like this song but I think it could use a metaphor like “I’m blowing out the candle to let the moonlight in” just a thought
