About This Song

A boy/man goes through his life just trying to do his best. At each phase of his life he just wants to hear "Good Job" including his final day....

Doesn't matter. If you like it, let me know, if you have constructive input, let me know. Most likely it will just get ignored like all the rest. Not being negative, just realistic...

Right On. We all need a pat on the back. Catchy tune. I might add something that happened in school before military.  Seems like a big jump.
Love the title and the feel.

“Good Job”

Written by Greg Arrell

A little boy standin all alone, on the working end of a broom
Daddy says "there's 50 cents if you pick up this room"
Money's nice but it come s and goes, what he really wants
Are daddy's words when he looks around and says "Good Job"

Time goes by, a boy grows up, he serves his country well
He fights a war, does his job, tries to forget that Hell
Comes back home to make his peace, he's a hero now
They pin that medal upon his chest and they say "Good Job"

He says he's nothin special, and he's got no tales to tell
He's just doin what his daddy said, he said "always do it well"

He meets a girl, she likes his smile, and so they take those vows
He wants a boy, she wants a girl, the time is closer now
He says a prayer and the miracle comes, they both get what they want
Puts his baby twins on their mama's breasts and he whispers "Good Job"
A life well lived has come and gone, It's his final day
Family and friends gather round, to help him on his way
The Lord looks down, smiles and says. Son you've made me proud
Then he holds him close and He takes him home and he says..
