About This Song

Neo traditional country style. Instill have my dads old phone that I keep charged and basic service on because it has his voice on his VM. I just need to chat with him sometimes even though he is no longer here. My original lyrics/SUNO PRO (paid service) melody and vocal.

Great lyrics and imagery Tray.  As much as I curse technology sometimes, I wish I had my mother’s voice somewhere that I could listen to.  She died before cell phones were a thing. I really enjoyed the song and the message.

I listened to this because of another user I like, ALLEN ROSENSWEIG. He’s pretty good and I figured if he liked it, it was worth a listen. Glad I did. It’s really good. Not just the song, which is good both lyrically and musically, but your voice sounds as good as anybody I hear on the radio. (other than Chris Stapleton) but he’s ungodly good so don’t feel bad. The production is also very good. I can’t come close to that quality but I’m a writer, not a sound engineer. I’m going to go listen to more of your stuff so you may hear from me again.

Last Goodbye (country)

Written by Tray Price

Woke up with you on my mind today
I knew you wouldn't answer,
I'm calling anyway
Guess your voicemail message
will have to do
No, Its not the same as talking to you

If it wasn't raining I’d hitch up that old boat,
if the fish weren’t biting, we could still float
Maybe have a beer or two, n’chat about our lives

Just one of the things I miss,
from when you were still alive

Ohhh
Nothing hits as hard as our last goodbye
Promised I wouldn’t sit around down here-and cry
Didnt know how tough it’d be
To pick up and carry on——
Hope you understand
I'm giving it my best grown man try—- —-
But nothing hits as hard as our last goodbye

Let me tell ya’ all about the girl I'd like to be my wife*
You’d think she's a keeper, Id say you’re thinkin right
She's southern as the red dirt that runs through her veins
I'm sure you’d be ok with her sharing our last name
And yeah—she's a looker alright,
You’d say “Son, that deserves a high-five”

Just one of the things I miss,
from when you were still alive

Ohhh
Nothing hits as hard as our last goodbye
Promised I wouldn’t sit around down here-and cry
Didnt know how tough it’d be
To pick up and carry on——
Hope you understand
I'm giving it my best grown man try—- —-
But nothing hits as hard as our last goodbye

Well, I think we’re all caught up now,
Guess I’ll let ya go
It was good to hear your voice through the voicemail on your phone

Ohhh
Nothing hits as hard as our last goodbye
Promised I wouldn’t sit around down here-and cry
Didnt know how tough it’d be
To pick up and carry on——
Hope you understand
I'm giving it my best grown man try—- —-
But nothing hits as hard as our last goodbye

notes:
*if artist is already married or just prefers, then replace with-
“Let me tell you about the woman that lights up my life” or “…that I made my wife”
