About This Song

I wrote this when I was 19 looking for a place to live. I accidentally played a wrong note when playing 'Sister Gold Hair' by America and that happy accident turned out as this song : )

Hopefully good feedback haha. I'm not open to changing my song around, however I'd welcome studio recording Ideas!

Living in the Rough

Written by Vivian Richardson

I am just a broken soul with nowhere to go
Pack my bags erase the past cause in this place I will not last
Where the wind blows makes sense to me, tomorrow will never be free
You see I’ve been up and down this avenue and in this desert town
ain’t nothing to do, with nowhere to go
North, south, east or west where am I gonna quest?

I’m a diamond in the rough, I ain’t shinin’ like I should but you know I really could
I’m living in the rough

We were free birds back in the day, we had it all
We are no longer free once you hit eighteen
The world did not become what I believed but rather became what I have achieved
the stars shine bright depending where I stand the universe can give more than demand
But the road looks different from the other side
I can’t make up my mind I’ve got to swallow my pride

I’m a diamond in the rough, I ain’t shinin’ like I should but you know I really could
I’m living in the rough
