About This Song

Still in the works, this song means to give a POV to the "other woman" in a relationship. She is not the villain, but rather the villain is the person who decided cheat with her. She knows she's being treated poorly, but still goes back to them.

Wow, I love your song! It’s super interesting. Sorry I am like a year late with the feedback haha. Your song sounds like like a bit of jazz, soul pop, maybe a bit of R&B. This is a little reminiscent of the vocals and lyrics of Amy Winehouse. If you’d like to make it accessible, stick the bridge and chorus in between the verses. Otherwise I think you’re song is great as is!

Mistress Blues

Written by Amanda Ha

[verse 1]
if i packed my crimson luggage
paid the $3 fee
if i boarded that train
would u come chasin after me

or would it take u till sunset
to notice the lack of heat
cuz you never never seem
to be missing me

[verse 2]
now if i travelled 50 west
bought myself a pretty house
would u replace me in a heartbeat
or weep on that leather couch

would u finally leave ur woman
and surrender all your love
or would u make an empty promise
hoping it’s enough

[bridge]
think i know better
than to
answer the caller
knows you
could never leave her

[chorus]
but this mistress knows her place
and she’ll be waiting by the side door

this mistress knows her place
and she’ll be waiting by the side door
