About This Song

Walking away from relationships because we're so angry it's not worth it anymore. This song is about turning away from anger and mending a broken love commitment/relationship that could be worth saving. If only, their both willing to try.

Hey David. Great song man.  “Listen to the words we didn’t say” is the best line.  Only thing that doesn’t quite mesh in my mind is the second verse where she sings about longing and suffering “all these years”.  To me the first verse and chorus make it seem like the wounds are still fresh, with the anger, pain, and broken heart. Anyway, just a thought.  Great song-great tune.  Keep it up.

A LOVE WE SHOULD’VE...

Written by David Cooper

I tossed away the ring you gave
it lies silent sleeping in a grave of
memories torn... and scattered... in my mind.
Little things… we ignored
Festered into something more
Hurtful, bitter… never-ending feuds

Can I turn away from the anger... overcome the pain?
Listen to the words we didn't say?
t’ mend a love worth keepin'… heal my heart that’s seekin'
to resurrect… the promise that we made… a love we should have saved.

I’ve been longing for you… all these years
Wondering if you’d… suffered tears
Times you miss… an’ what we left behind?
An’ though we went… separate ways
How I so regret that day.
'cause I know, I’m still in love with you

I’ll turn away from the anger... overcome my pain?
Listen to the words we didn't say
t’ mend a love worth keepin'… heal my heart that’s seekin'
to resurrect… the promise that we made.... a love we should’ve saved.

I’m prayin’ for way… to say to you
I can't do it all alone…
Baby… are you willing to try?

to turn away from the anger...
overcome our pain
Even listen to the words we didn't say
t’ mend a love worth keepin'… heal our hearts that are seekin'
to resurrect… the promise that we made…
a love we should’ve saved
… a love we should’ve saved
