About This Song

An upbeat summer song of heartbreak. I've recently added accordion to the mix. I'm also using this track to set up my marketing foundation as I have other songs being completed over the summer.

Feedback Requested

Any and all feedback is appreciated. I've heard good feedback about the imagery in the verses. The chorus has been criticized for being a bit too repetitive. I welcome any feedback that builds in these areas others. I'm a sponge with tough skin. Your feedback will help me keep leaning and improving. Keep writing, and rewriting!

Amazing song and I agree - incredible imagery in the verses. I don’t know if I would call the chorus repetetive, but I would probably change the end of the second and fourth lines to something other than the same 3 word pattern.  But man I really love the vibe of the song and the concept is fantastic.  Needless to say the instrumentation is great and if that is you singing then I applaud that as well.

Title: Drip
Songwriter: Brad Mays; brad@blk-records.com; @bradmays (Instagram)

Verse
Girl your tail lights drove me north of crazy
A month of guy’s nights couldn’t even save me
So I booked a ticket south
Somewhere to drown your memory out

Now sweat beads racing down a Bud Light label
Tattooing wet rings on this bamboo table
I lean back and I start to drift
Give this cold 12 ounce a lift and

Chorus
Your memory starts to drip drip drip
From the moment that I tip tip tip
This cold bottle to my lip lip lips
Never letting me forget get get

Verse
Steel drums tapping out that Kingston rhythm
Island people sway and I sway with ‘em
We’re here to party and forget
I give this Red Stripe cap a flip and

Chorus
Your memory starts to drip drip drip
From the moment that I tip tip tip
This cold bottle to my lip lip lips
Never letting me forget get get

Bridge
A new distraction has me almost fixed
Suntan lines spinnin round her hips
She brings Bacardi to my lips and

Chorus
Your memory starts to drip drip drip
From the moment that I tip tip tip
This cold bottle to my lip lip lips
Never letting me forget get get

Chorus
Your memory starts to drip drip drip
From the moment that I tip tip tip
This cold bottle to my lip lip lips
Never letting me forget get get

Chorus
Your memory starts to drip drip drip
From the moment that I tip tip tip
This cold bottle to my lip lip lips
Never letting me forget get get
