Uncle Brent ...

Hi Sundi,
Cool song. I really like the Chorus and Bridge. This could cross genres ... What are you thinking gospel, bluegrass?  Nice job!  Keep up the good work. Thanks, Uncle Brent

Thanks, Brent! I’m open to any genres, really, because you’re right - I think it could cross.

I’m hoping to get a demo done.

Thanks for sharing this song! The last two lines of the chorus are very hooky and have me singing along right away. Your economy of words is good, too.
I have a suggestion for you to take or leave as you see fit: What would you think about changing up the melody in the Bridge section? The melody and chord structure in the Bridge follows the Chorus pretty closely and makes it hard to distinguish as a different section. In many songs, the Bridge is a section that builds energy. Maybe a different (faster?) rhythm pattern/melody? Just a thought for your consideration. It could set up your final chorus to be really strong. Nice work!

Teresa,

Thank you for the feedback. I agree with you. My melody ability only goes so far, so I’m hoping to change this as I work on the demo.

I listened to your rendition out on Spotify.  Good song. I like the tight structure and I think the prosody is just right.

Everything Will Be Alright Work...

Written by Sundi Jo Graham

Verse One:

It’s hard to sing “Joy to the World” when the world seems to be falling apart
It’s hard to say “I love you” when you can’t see through the hurt

Chorus One:

So what do you do when you can’t see the truth in a world full of lies?
My friend, I say sing anyway, love anyway
And someday everything will be alright

Verse Two:

It’s hard to pray for my brother when he keeps knocking me down
It’s hard to give a hand to a stranger when she builds walls I can’t get around

Chorus Two

So what do you do when you can’t see the truth in a world full of lies?
My brother, I say pray anyway, give anyway
And someday everything will be alright

Instrumental

Bridge

We’ve got to sing anyway, love anyway
Pray anyway, give anyway
We’ve got to sing anyway, love anyway
Pray anyway, give anyway

Repeat Chorus One

My brother, I say pray anyway, give anyway
And someday everything will be alright
