I’ve heard a few songwriters’ attempts at Christmas songs the last two months and yours is absolutely the best. Your melody is catchy, interesting, and the perfect balance of uniqueness blended with allusions to the best Christmas songs in this genre. You’ve captured the feeling in the lyrics and the music. Fantastic work!

I can’t wait because I’m Christmas crazy

My heart’s tingling and I’m jingling all the way.
I can’t wait for the brass bands’ sweet
Soothing music out in the high street,
While we shop for the toys and treats -
Gift wrap, sticky-tack, we’re all complete.
And I can’t wait to hear that shriek when the children find the stockings,
Can’t wait till they go bonkers, just as kids at Christmas do.
And while the children play, in the kitchen we’ll get chopping
And we’ll joke about the old year and we’ll dream about the new.

Tiny smiling fires in the still night,
Or snow in the sunshine blinding bright -
Out on the sleds with our hats down tight

And I’ll whisper happy Christmas, have a wonderful New Year
